Toilet Malfunction
Water swirls but doesn't flush completely
Not enough water is falling into the bowl from the tank. At the conclusion of each flush, be the tank must refill to the water line on the flush-valve. Water level is controlled by the float rod and the float ball. (Make sure the float ball is tightly screwed onto the float rod.) If the water level is below the water line mark, turn the float rod adjusting screw counterclockwise, and if the water level is above the water line mark, turn the screw clockwise. Do not bend float rod. (Scroll to bottom to see diagrams.)
High turbulence and/or noise during tank refill
The water supply line pressure is too high. To minimize pressure, turn the flow adjusting screw clockwise.
Water overflowing in tank
The supply valve is not shutting off. Check to see if the rod is tightly screwed into the float valve and the ball float is not scraping the side of the tank. Turn the water level screw clockwise to bring water level down to the water line mark on the flush valve. (Click for a diagram)
Constant running water into the bowl
The flapper needs to be sealed. To keep flapper from hanging up on the float ball, turn ballcock counterclockwise, or turn flow adjustment screw clockwise. (Click for a diagram)
